Hard and Bright, the Wolf Moon and the Clee Hill Coal

The coal was a good quality - hard and bright.  As a result, it was requested for household use in South Shropshire and North Herefordshire, although this meant slow transportation by road.  It must have shone and sparkled under the full moons of the mid 1800's with a blackness and purity that is no longer seen on the hill.  Oil, collage, spray paint, enamel on ply.  26W X 34H cm  2023
